What We Do
Green & Away, established in 1990, is a unique charitable events venue, working with organisations and people to create a natural, eco-friendly and creative space to come together in community, to inspire and foster ideas, to connect with nature or discover the outdoors for the first time.
We offer a fully-serviced temporary outdoor venue, set-up and managed entirely by volunteers each summer. Our facilities include large marquees, hot showers, compost toilets, solar electricity and comfortable accommodation tents. Our volunteer kitchen serves delicious vegetarian meals.
We provide meeting spaces for a range of groups, from eight people on a craft course to 150 people at a conference or retreat. We have large marquees for gatherings and smaller break-out spaces for group activities and personal reflection.
If you’re interested in hosting an event with us, or want more information don’t hesitate to contact us.
Green & Away aims to be accessible for all despite the challenges of being in a temporary outdoor environment. Please see our Access Statement for details and get in touch with any questions.
Charity and Education
Green & Away is a charitable organisation that exists to provide a unique environment to gather, recharge, share, play and grow. We aim to be a supportive place of learning for guests and volunteers and be a safe and comfortable meeting space for organisations focussing on environmental progress, social change and building a positive relationship with nature.
Our current focus as a charity is to:
- Support groups focussing on tackling the climate crisis by hosting events to further their movement.
- Create an accessible, inclusive and comfortable space for groups to relax, especially those typically lacking representation in the environmental and outdoor community.
- Be a place where volunteers can visit and contribute, be creative, have fun, explore themselves and learn new skills.
